Moon Urn

Inspired by a classical form echoing the entire shape of the moon, the Moon Urn was created in collaboration with Portland, Oregon-based ceramicist Wil Labelle of Terra Noir Pottery. Wil brings decades of technique to this modern translation of a prized ritualistic vessel. Serene in character, each urn is thrown by hand on a pottery wheel from white stoneware. A minimal lid nestles gently into the larger body. The Moon Urn is twice-dipped in a soft white and glossy blue glaze combination, a soft white and glossy gray combination, or a visually complex gray shino.
