Proudly Serving Fort Atkinson Families Since 1984

We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations.


Our mission is to help walk our community through times of grief and provide beautiful and meaningful services to every family that walks through our doors. We are proud that Fort Atkinson families continue to trust us to take care of their loved ones.


Nitardy Funeral Home offers a variety of choices for cremation and burial services, designed to meet the diverse needs of the families we serve. We are here to help you with memorialization and the planning of life celebration services, ensuring that each tribute uniquely reflects the life it honors. As Veterans Service Specialists, we also provide dedicated services to honor the memory of those who have served our nation.

  • Care of your loved one until burial is complete. Family not present with timing at the discretion of the funeral home.

The compassion that Autumn at Nitardy funeral home has shown my family during this time has been outstanding and above and beyond what I expected during this time. The empathy and understanding has shocked me and provided relief in making the process so smooth and clear. I will always recommend Nitardy Funeral home to anyone I know in this area. I am still so touched by the kindest that was shown to my family and myself during this very hard time. I am glad that they can honor my mom and help place her to rest.
