At Willwerscheid Funeral Home & Cremation Service, we have proudly served the St. Paul community for over 100 years. Today, a fourth generation of Willwerscheid family funeral directors continue to help families in our community navigate grief and plan funerals, cremation services, and life celebration services. Our team does everything we can to provide professional, compassionate care to every family that walks through our doors.


Willwerscheid Funeral Home & Cremation Service was founded in 1886 by John Adam Willwerscheid, a second generation American and father of eight. While we've seen many changes since those days, one thing has remained the same - our commitment to serving our St. Paul neighbors. We provide options for every family's needs and budget including many cremation, burial and memorialization options and assistance with life celebration ceremonies, veteran's services and shipping.


We are in the heart of St. Paul on Grand Avenue. We have a second location for your convenience in West St. Paul.

  • Includes all of the essential services of the funeral director and staff.
  • Removal of your loved one as well as local transportation to the cemetery for burial (within five county metro service area).
  • Care of your loved one until burial is complete. Family not present with timing at the discretion of the funeral home.
  • Consultation with responsible party for final arrangements.
  • All the necessary permits and authorizations.
  • Free self-service online obituary.
  • Many other optional services available - including celebration of life event planning, traditional funeral service, on-site catering, police escort to the gravesite, and more - at additional charge.
