Beers and Story first opened our doors almost 100 years ago and we have been active members of the community ever since. Three generations later, our mission remains the same: to provide compassionate, professional funeral and cremation services in South Hadley, Massachusetts. - Removal of your loved one as well as local transportation to the cemetery for burial (within 25 miles).
- Care of your loved one until burial is complete. Family not present with timing at the discretion of the funeral home.
- Consultation with responsible party for final arrangements.
- All the necessary permits and authorizations.
- Free self-service online obituary.
- Many optional services available - including celebration of life event planning, traditional funeral service, and more - at additional charge.
- Prices may not include merchandise, cash advances, filing fees, or death certificates. Please see complete price list for additional details and exclusions.
Cremation Services
- Includes all of the essential services of the funeral director and staff.
- Removal and local transportation of your loved one to the crematory (within 25 miles).
- Care of your loved one until cremation is complete.
- Cremation process and return of ashes.
- Consultation with responsible party for final arrangements.
- All the necessary permits and authorizations.
- Free self-service online obituary.

Supremely competent, professional, kind, and highly sensitive staff and owners. All the people I dealt with were women. I don't know if this is a women-owned company, but all the better if it is. Highly recommended.

As terrible as a loved one’s passing can be, and as unexpected as this one was, everyone I came in contact with at Beers and Story was kind and compassionate. Brittany was patient during a very difficult conversation and easily accessible when my brain wasn’t comprehending everything clearly. Crystal was amazing and thorough in guiding us to create a beautiful goodbye to our loved one. The entire process of a funeral was the least painful part. Thank you all your time and compassion.

I first engaged with Beers & Story more than ten years ago when my aunt made her pre-need plans with Crystal Champigny. Thus began a long-term relationship. Along the way, I held many conversations with Crystal and became impressed with her personal approach and her professionalism. It wasn’t until the last few months when we were in more regular contact as my aunt’s health began to decline. Once she died, the Beers & Story team took care of all the arrangements and details. They were very easy to work with and guided our decisions and made a difficult situation very manageable. In the end, everything was very well done, and we are most grateful.
