After visiting Green Valley Mortuary days after our mom passed, we were hoping for the best for her. Green Valley had a very formal and business-like atmosphere. When we met with the man from Green Valley and were informed that simply saying our goodbyes would come with a hefty price tag, we felt like we had no other choice. Our mom would have been devastated if she knew we spent that much money. Thankfully, my sister remembered a list of other mortuaries in the area that she was given before leaving the hospital. We decided to call the first one on the list, and from the moment Dion answered the phone, I knew we had found the perfect place for our mom's final wishes. Walking into the Placerville facility, my sister and I immediately felt like we were among family. It wasn't about the money, it was about honoring our mom's wishes. The staff at the Placerville facility took exceptional care of our mother, allowing us to say our goodbyes without feeling rushed. I can't express enough gratitude for the kindness and support we received, even a month later when they continue to check in on us and offer resources to help us through this difficult time. This 5-star review is far overdue. I would give more stars, if I could. My family had a wonderful experience with Scott and the arrangements for my mother’s burial in November 2023. Everything that we wanted/needed to honor my mother’s wishes for a simple burial was delivered with perfection. Our family’s specific religious rituals were honored and accommodated. All services were incredibly punctual and provided with genuine sensitivity, respect, and care. They offer tiered services, which range from practical to elaborate. My family was more on the practical end of things, and we were entirely satisfied by the services and care we received. I will even offer that one member of our family members experienced our loss in a way that was not particularly easy to receive as an outsider. Scott did an amazing job managing all of the personalities involved and making sure every need of ours was met. I wish that more funeral services modeled their practices after this one. Navigating the “business”of loss Is very difficult. Finding a funeral/burial service that can meet you where you are, and support you along the way is a beautiful gift during an impossible time.
